Paige finally made her return to WWE a few weeks ago after spending over a year sitting on the sidelines. Fans were happy to see her back, but unfortunately it doesn’t sound like we’ll be seeing the former Divas Champion return to the ring.
The Raw Superstar recently took to Instagram to tease a comeback, but now a new report is suggesting that WWE will not be allowing her to attempt said comeback.
PWInsider is reporting that Paige was informed this week that WWE will not be clearing her to return to the ring following the recent injury that she suffered at a WWE live event. It’s being reported that she was given the news on Monday at Raw, and that she is considered to be “done” as an in-ring performer.
During a match at a WWE live event on 12/28, Paige took a kick from Sasha Banks that she wasn’t ready for, and the match had to be stopped.
It was believed that she had just suffered a stinger, but after she started losing feeling in her extremities, WWE decided to do more testing which ultimately led to the decision to pull her from in-ring action.
The situation that Paige is in right now is said to be similar to what happened to Edge when he had to retire from the ring.
She was originally announced for the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match, but obviously she won’t be competing in the match. The former Divas Champion will now be relegated to a non-physical role with WWE.
