We here at Still Real To Us have been keeping you, our amazing (and intelligent) readers up to date on all of the latest developments concerning WWE Studios and Seven Bucks Productions’ upcoming film based on Paige’s famous family. Deadline reports that MGM has put in a bid which could be up to $17.5 million dollars to secure the worldwide distribution for the film. Therefore this film is certainly going to be the real deal.
The cast is looking to be a great one, and the people attached to the project on the production end are top-notch.
This highly anticipated film is not going to be exclusively about Paige. If you’ve seen the original subject matter, “Fighting With My Family” you can see how this is the case as Paige is removed from the filming half-way into the documentary because she was called to join WWE during that time. The documentary even includes a scene where her family is sitting around their television at home while they watch Paige compete on NXT. Therefore a majority of the film will center around Paige’s family.
It was reported the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that both Tessa Blanchard and Thea Trinidad were in Los Angeles for the film which is currently in production. Blanchard is being used as a stunt double for Florence Pugh who plays Paige in the film.
It’s not known at this time what parts these two former NXT talents will have in the film, but it was noted that the two were “late calls” seeing how Blanchard was forced to cancel her scheduled appearance at WCPW’s internet pay-per-view to take the role.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that a major plot point in the film is set for next week in Los Angeles and they’re using a very well-known building as a location.
The Staples Center in Los Angeles will be used during a key moment in the film which will portray a very important part of Paige’s early career. Reports are also coming out that WCW and WWE alumni Dave Taylor is being used as the on-set wrestling coordinator for the project. Taylor is a well-known British wrestler, therefore his style and input will be greatly valued during this production.
The scenes at the Staples Center are planned to be shot in front of a live audience as well, so we will definitely be keeping you up to date on when we finally get a glimpse of Florence Pugh portraying Paige on-set.
On another Paige note, her wedding with Alberto Del Rio is reportedly scheduled for May.
Paige and Alberto have been engaged since October of 2016 after the former WWE Divas Champion got down on one knee and proposed in the middle of the ring during a wrestling event in Puerto Rico. If you missed it the first time around you can check out a few videos in the post below.
