WrestleMania is almost here, which means Brock Lesnar will soon be putting his Universal Championship on the line against Seth Rollins at the Show of Shows.
Lesnar won the Universal Title back at Crown Jewel, and Seth Rollins earned the right to challenge him for the belt when he won the men’s Royal Rumble match.
However, it doesn’t sound like either Superstar was originally planned to be in the title picture during Mania season.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns was originally supposed to be in the Universal Title match, likely as the champion defending against Dean Ambrose.
As of this writing Roman Reigns is now set to face Drew McIntyre at Mania, and Dean Ambrose hasn’t been added to the card yet.
