Cody Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE Champion and there’s no denying that he has a target on his back right now. There are a number of WWE stars who are looking to get their hands on Cody’s title and it was recently confirmed that Drew McIntyre will be challenging Cody Rhodes for the belt at Saturday Night’s Main Event next month.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre was originally scheduled for Survivor Series, but WWE moved the match up because Jacob Fatu is out of action. However, it was noted that even before Jacob Fatu was sidelined Drew McIntyre was planned to main event Survivor Series in a match against Cody.
It was also noted that Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu is a tough match to book because there are people who are very strongly behind the idea of putting Fatu in one of the top roles.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will air live on November 1st and the current card for the show can be seen below.
