Original Royal Rumble Plans For Ronda Rousey, Possible WrestleMania Match

This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw featured the debut of a new talk show segment called Moment of Bliss, and the first guest on the show was Ronda Rousey.

During the segment Rousey told Alexa Bliss that she wanted to face Sasha Banks, and Banks later defeated Nia Jax to earn a title shot at the Royal Rumble.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that original plans called for Ronda Rousey to face Charlotte Flair at the Royal Rumble.

While talking about Sasha Banks on Raw, Rousey praised her and called her the Heart of the Women’s Division on the red brand. Banks is someone who Rousey does like and wants to work with, so her comments about Banks on Raw were a shoot.

It’s not confirmed at this point that Ronda Rousey will face Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 35, but WWE reportedly nixed plans for Charlotte vs. Ronda at the Rumble so that they could keep that option open.
