The Last Time Is Now Tournament continued on Monday Night Raw this week and Gunther picked up a big win over Carmelo Hayes to advance to the quarterfinals. Later in the night Solo Sikoa faced off against Penta, and Solo Sikoa was awarded the victory after the match was stopped due to injury.
The Wrestling Observer reports that Solo Sikoa was always scheduled to win the match, so the result was not changed. However, the match was originally supposed to go twelve minutes.
Around the four minute mark Penta jumped off the barricade then connected with a hurricanrana on Solo Sikoa. It was clear after he landed on the floor that Penta suffered an injury. It’s being said that Wade Barrett threw the show to a commercial break as Joe Tessitore was being fed information. Details regarding the extent of Penta’s injury are unknown at this time.
The Last Time Is Now Tournament will continue on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown as Jey Uso will be facing off against Rusev and LA Knight is set to take on a mystery competitor.
Stay tuned for updates.
