Original Plans Revealed For Major Return On WWE SmackDown

It’s been an exciting year full of surprising returns and back in May it was Carlito who made his return to WWE during the Damian Priest vs. Bad Bunny match at Backlash. It appears that we haven’t seen the last of Carlito in WWE as it was recently reported that the former Intercontinental Champion has signed a new deal with the company.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that original plans called for Carlito to return on the 7/7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown from Madison Square Garden. However, plans for Carlito’s return ended up getting cancelled because WWE had to cram so many things into the show.

Moving forward it seems that the plan is for Carlito to be part of the SmackDown brand. There’s currently no word on what date WWE has scheduled for his return to TV, so it will be interesting to see when he pops up.
