This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw aired live from Brussels, Belgium and it was a huge show. Raw kicked off with John Cena’s first appearance on WWE programming following his heel turn at Elimination Chamber, and Cena unloaded on the fans for several minutes before he was confronted by Cody Rhodes.
During a recent episode of Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes noted that the opening segment for Raw went longer than expected. Originally the segment with John Cena and Cody Rhodes was slated for only 15 minutes.
Due to the overrun, content that was planned for Raw such as the Maxxine Dupri, Natalya, Alpha Academy segment, and Bayley, Lyra Valkyria spot were instead featured on WWE social accounts.
Later in the night Jey Uso faced off against Austin Theory in a match that saw Jey pick up the win over Theory in less than a minute. According to WrestleVotes the Jey Uso vs. Austin Theory match was originally scheduled for 8 minutes of in-ring action, but obviously it ended up being much shorter.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer for John Cena’s next WWE appearance as he’s currently being advertised for next week’s episode of Raw in Glasgow, Scotland.
