This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw had a special Legends Night theme, but it looks like the company made some changes to the original plans for the show.
PWInsider reports that originally Legends Night was set to open with Hulk Hogan in the ring cutting a promo, but instead WWE made the decision to have him do something backstage.
It was also noted that both Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair sat in on the production meeting for Raw.
Originally Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton was set to close the show, but late in the day it was decided that Keith Lee vs. Drew McIntyre would close Raw with Goldberg angle following after the match.
Drew McIntyre was supposed to a cut a promo leading up to Goldberg’s entrance, but the promo was cut because Raw was running late.
After the show went off the air Drew hit Goldberg with a Glasgow Kiss then faced off with him. That was originally supposed to be the ending.
Mick Foley did not appear as he made the decision not to work the show after overcoming a positive COVID-19 test. There was a cameo written for Carlito that was pulled earlier in the day. Candice Michelle was advertised but there’s no word on why she didn’t appear.
Sasha Banks and Natalya were backstage filming content for the WWE Network.
