Original Plans For The WWE WrestleMania 35 Main Event

Now that TLC has come and gone, we’re all looking ahead to the Royal Rumble in January, and once the pay-per-view ends we’ll officially be on the Road to WrestleMania.

WrestleMania season is always full if surprises, but it seems that WWE had to throw their original plans out the window due to various reasons.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that original plans called for Roman Reigns to be in the main event at WrestleMania 35.

The exact direction for Reigns at Mania wasn’t clear, but it’s been speculated that Dean Ambrose would have turned on Reigns instead of Rollins when he turned heel to set up a big match between the two.

It’s also being reported that Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya was originally supposed to be the women’s main event, but due to Jim Neidhart’s death Vince McMahon didn’t want to turn Natalya heel.

Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair was also considered for the main event, but once Becky Lynch got hot and everyone was on the same page for Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at Mania with Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair at the Rumble.
