Original Plans For The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania

When Brock Lesnar faced off against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30, he defeated The Deadman and ended Taker’s infamous WrestleMania streak.

It was a dark day in the world of professional wrestling for many fans, and surely a moment that no one will forget any time soon.

But it sounds like original plans called for Taker and Lesnar to face off before WrestleMania 30.

Back in 2010, The Undertaker attended UFC 121 and Taker got into a confrontation with Lesnar after Lesnar’s fight.

The confrontation got a lot of people talking, and that’s exactly what it was supposed to do.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan was to use the confrontation to build up a WrestleMania match for Taker vs. Lesnar in 2011.

Vince thought Dana White had approved the idea, but when he called Dana, Vince was informed that Dana didn’t know about the match. Vince was under the impression that the match had already been cleared which is why Taker was sent to the pay-per-view.

The Undertaker had reportedly received his ticket from Dana White, but Dana didn’t approve the match, so it didn’t happen until Lesnar eventually returned to WWE.

Vince McMahon kept the idea a secret from almost everyone, but those who were involved were told to make it look like a shoot.

Obviously things ended up very different, but it’s funny to think that wrestling history could have been very different if the match had been approved.
