Shane McMahon made his big return to WWE back in January when he entered the 30 man Royal Rumble match, but unfortunately for Shane his return didn’t last very long. Following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view it was reported that Shane had significant backstage heat due to the work he did as a producer at the event, and that WWE had quietly let him go.
In recent years Shane McMahon has often landed a sport on the WrestleMania card, but it doesn’t look like the former WWE European Champion will be competing on the Grandest Stage of Them All this year.
Dave Meltzer recently discussed Seth Rollins’ status for WrestleMania 38 on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that Shane McMahon was going to be Seth’s original opponent for Mania.
This week Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins lost the triple threat match for the Raw Tag Team Titles, and it was teased that Seth has no path to WrestleMania. Meltzer also noted that it’s expected something will be worked out for Seth at Mania. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
