You never know what’s going to happen when you watch WWE programming and this week Tommaso Ciampa made his surprise return during Monday Night Raw in Cleveland, Ohio.
The BWE Twitter account is reporting that original plans called for Tommaso Ciampa to face off against Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw this week. However, obviously those plans were changed.
It was noted that the change was made by Triple H as he didn’t want Tommaso Ciampa to lose his first match back. Ciampa went on to make his grand return during the show and he defeated The Miz in his first match in nine months.
Eventually Seth Rollins’ open challenge was scrapped completely as he was attacked by Finn Balor in the opening segment. It was recently reported that Vince McMahon was the one who made the call to scrap the open challenge and you can get more on that here.
