Randy Orton has been out of action for months now, but prior to his hiatus from WWE he was involved in a longterm storyline where he was working in a tag team with Matt Riddle. RK-Bro took the world by storm, but it sounds like WWE had plans to split the team up.
WrestleVotes recently spoke to GiveMeSport about the plans for The Viper’s split from Riddle, and it was noted that, “When Randy Orton went down, the plan was for him to come back and immediately turn on Matt Riddle.”
Randy Orton last competed back in May when he and Riddle dropped the Raw Tag Team Titles to The Usos on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Orton is said to be dealing with a back injury and there’s currently no timetable for his potential return.
Riddle is currently working with Elias on TV right now and WrestleVotes speculated that WWE may have thought Orton would have been back by now when they added, “Maybe they don’t have anything drawn out for Riddle now because they assumed that Randy would be back by now?”
Stay tuned for more updates on Randy Orton’s status as they become available.
