Original Plans For Kofi Kingston On WWE SmackDown Live

On Sunday night Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship for the first time in his career, and he celebrated his big win on SmackDown Live on Tuesday.

Kofi Kingston was also in action on Tuesday, as he teamed with The New Day to take on The Bar & Drew McIntyre in the main event.

PWInsider is now reporting that original plans for the WWE Champion called for him to face Drew McIntyre on Tuesday night.

There’s no word on why plans for Kofi vs. Drew were changed to a six man tag team match.

It’s also being reported that time was cut from the match, and since the end of the match was set to focus on The New Day beating The Bar, there was no time to explain taking Drew out of the match, so he was instructed to go to the back.
