Many fans were surprised when WWE announced months ago that Jon Moxley would be parting ways with the company in April, and the wrestling community had a lot of questions following his WWE departure.
Moxley answered many of those questions when he showed up at AEW Double or Nothing, and he opened up about his WWE departure in a tell all interview on Talk Is Jericho.
Rajah is reporting that when Jon Moxley initially decided to leave WWE he told both Triple H and Vince McMahon that he planned to take a year off to “heal (his) body and (his) brain.”
The assumption was that he would be returning to WWE in 2020, and it’s being reported that the company was so sure he would return that there were already tentative creative plans for him to return at the Royal Rumble.
Ultimately Jon Moxley decided to sign with AEW, and it’s being said that WWE had no idea that was going to happen until he appeared on camera at Double or Nothing.
How contract is for three years, but reportedly includes an option where he can opt out after the first year if he chooses to.
