Jon Moxley put his AEW International Championship on the line against Rey Fenix at AEW Grand Slam earlier this month, and fans were shocked when Fenix won the belt. Moxley unfortunately suffered a concussion which resulted in an audible being called as Moxley was originally set to retain the AEW International Championship.
Fightful Select recently reported that originally Jon Moxley was set to face a non-AEW wrestler at the WrestleDream pay-per-view, but plans had to be changed following the title change that took place at Grand Slam.
Bodyslam.net is now reporting that the original plans called for Jon Moxley to face “Filthy” Tom Lawlor at WrestleDream. It was also noted that if Moxley is cleared for the show on Sunday then the match will be back on.
At this point in time Tom Lawlor is not currently scheduled for WrestleDream, but he will be in Washington state this weekend as he’s set to appear at a Relentless Wrestling event in Spokane. Stay tuned for updates.
