Original Plans For Edge’s Return On WWE Raw

It’s been a while since fans have seen Edge on WWE programming as he was written off TV when The Judgement Day turned on him. Since then WWE has been airing cryptic teaser videos seemingly promoting his return, and it was expected that he would be at Monday Night Raw from Madison Square Garden this week.

PWInsider is reporting that not only was Edge set for Raw on Monday, but WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix was originally set for the show as well. However, plans were changed shortly after Vince McMahon announced his retirement.

Original plans also called for Edge and Beth Phoenix to be a part of SummerSlam weekend. There’s no word at this point in time if that’s still the plan or if WWE is holding off on their return for a later date.

SummerSlam will air live from Nashville on Saturday, July 30. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
