Original Plans For Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton At SummerSlam, Backstage Reaction To The Match

For weeks now Randy Orton has been feuding with Drew McIntyre, and on Sunday night he challenged McIntyre for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.

Both men fought hard, but unfortunately for Orton it was Drew McIntyre who walked out with the gold.

At one point during the match both men were bleeding, but PWInsider reports that the blood wasn’t due to blading, as Orton and McIntyre were busted open the hard way, and the blood was accidental.

It’s also being said that people backstage were thrilled with the match.

Original plans called for Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton to go on last at SummerSlam, but the match was moved last minute due to Roman Reigns return being set up to end the show after Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman.
