Chelsea Green made her big debut on Friday Night SmackDown last week, and she competed against Liv Morgan, Natalya and Tamina in a Survivor Series qualifier, but Green wasn’t in the match very long as she suffered a broken wrist.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that original plans for Chelsea Green’s debut called for her to win the match. Unfortunately for Chelsea the original plans had to be changed after she was bumped off the ring apron by Liv Morgan and suffered the injury.
Liv Morgan ended up getting the win, and it’s also being reported that Morgan was originally planned to get the win before the SmackDown script was torn up by Vince McMahon.
The original script had a three way match booked for the show, but someone suggested to Vince McMahon that Chelsea Green was ready to debut, so the match was changed to a four way.
Meltzer noted that Green was supposed to debut earlier this year, as Paul Heyman wanted her on Raw, but those plans were dropped when Heyman was fired from his position as Executive Director of Raw.
Chelsea Green recently underwent surgery. It’s not clear at this point in time when she will be returning to the ring.
Stay tuned for updates.
Just like the rest of my career, I couldn’t have an easy debut! LOL, that just wouldn’t be fit for my wild journey.
I’m headed into surgery now. I am beyond devastated but so excited to be a part of @WWE team SmackDown, when I get back! 💙— CHELSEA GREEN (@ImChelseaGreen) November 14, 2020
