Original Plans For Charlotte Flair At WWE WrestleMania 36

It’s been a few months since fans have seen Charlotte Flair on WWE programming, but The Queen had a big showing at WrestleMania 36 earlier this year when she defeated Rhea Ripley to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

Fightful Select reports that while Charlotte Flair was working in NXT the creative team in NXT had to work with the creative team on Raw. Creative plans for Charlotte had to go through the Raw team, and would reportedly get shot down.

It’s also being reported that Rhea Ripley was originally set to defeat Charlotte Flair and retain the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.

Creative plans were changed to have Charlotte win the belt, and there was a push in NXT to have Bianca Belair added to the feud. The idea was to add Belair to the feud so that Rhea could retain without pinning Charlotte.

It’s also being said that one wrestler who was asked about the situation had a pessimistic response, noting that the creative team should have known what they were getting into in regards to booking Charlotte Flair.
