Monday night was a rough night for Bronson Reed to say the least. Reed faced off against Jey Uso and Original El Grande Americano in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match, but Reed had to be pulled from the bout after he suffered a torn bicep.
Dave Meltzer discussed the original plans for Bronson Reed on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that Reed was set to win the triple threat match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber.
“He was going to win the match, by the way. I think most people already know that anyway, but he was going to win that match, and you know, they had to take him out. They basically had to do an impromptu, and everybody knew he was hurt, and it took away from that match.”
Unfortunately for Bronson Reed plans had to be changed as an audible was called due to the injury and Jey Uso ended up picking up the win. Later in the night Michael Cole confirmed Reed had suffered a torn bicep that will keep him out of action indefinitely.
Bronson Reed is unfortunately the third member of The Vision to suffer an injury in recent months as Seth Rollins has been sidelined since October, and Bron Breakker underwent surgery a few weeks ago for a serious hernia.
Stay tuned for more updates on Bronson Reed’s status as they become available.
