Ahead of this week’s episode of SmackDown WWE had been promoting Brock Lesnar’s big return to the blue brand, but a few hours before the show it was reported that The Beast Incarnate had left the building because he was unhappy about Vince McMahon’s retirement announcement.
However, Brock Lesnar ended up returning and he made a brief appearance at the end of the show when he hit Theory with the F5. Fightful Select reports that one source called the situation “overblown” but also noted that they weren’t sure if Brock was going to appear on the show.
It’s also being reported that original plans called for Brock Lesnar to be the focal point of the show, but that changed significantly. The script was re-written and didn’t feature Lesnar. The rundown also did not feature Lesnar, but the last segment was left open in a way that would allow him to be included.
According to the report Brock Lesnar’s mood was much improved when he returned to the building. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
