Finn Balor faced off against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, and he defeated Rollins to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion. Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the original plan was to have Balor face Chris Jericho before Balor was booked in the title match.
On Tuesday Finn Balor underwent successful surgery to repair his shoulder, and after the surgery Dr. Jeffrey Dugas spoke to WWE.com about Finn’s condition.
“Finn’s injury was pretty severe, more severe than normal. A really high energy injury, it did more damage than a standard shoulder dislocation where you simply tear the labrum. The prognosis is excellent, however. We were able to fix it all and put it back where it came from. I’m anticipating him getting back at full speed.”
You can check out some photos of Balor both during and after the surgery below.
