For weeks not anticipation has been at an all time high heading into WrestleMania 40 and festivities kicked off in a big way with night one on Saturday. Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley opened night one with a match that saw Rhea retain the WWE Women’s World Championship, and The Rock & Roman Reigns picked up a big victory over Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins in the main event.
WrestleMania 40 will continue tonight and ahead of the show PWInsider is reporting that Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is expected to open the show. Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is expected to be the main event.
Due to the fact that The Rock & Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins on night one Cody’s title match with Roman will now be contested under Bloodline rules which means anything goes.
The Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins match will also feature an appearance from CM Punk as The Second City Saint is currently set to do commentary for the match. Stay tuned.
