This year has been good to James Ellsworth. Back in July he faced off against Braun Strowman, and he told the audience that “any man with two hands has a fighting chance.” Ellsworth didn’t score a victory over Braun Strowman that night, but he did make a connection with wrestling fans around the world.
A few months later James Ellsworth resurfaced on SmackDown Live, and he almost teamed with WWE World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles. Following that appearance, James Ellsworth was brought back for a singles match with Styles, which he won, with a little help from Dean Ambrose. He later challenged AJ Styles for the World Title and won the match by DQ.
On Sunday, James Ellsworth will be appearing at his first Survivor Series as the official team mascot for Team SmackDown, and he’ll be doing it as an official WWE Superstar.
At the Big Time Wrestling event in Altoona, PA, on Friday night, Ellsworth grabbed the mic and informed the crowd that he has officially signed a WWE contract.
“From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank not only you guys, but anybody that’s gonna watch this, and anybody that’s gonna watch this on social media around the world. From the kid that’s been wanting to do this since he was five years old, you all made my dream come true. Thank you very much. Remember if you have a dream and you want it to come true, any man with two hands has a fighting chance.”
