Austin Theory looked confident as he made his entrance, but his mood quickly changed when Grayson Waller interrupted him. Waller and Theory didn’t appear to be on the same page before the match kicked off, but they immediately teamed up to take on Oba Femi when the bell rang.
It didn’t take long for Oba Femi to get the upper hand as he quickly overpowered both Waller and Theory. The fans were clearly behind the NXT Champion.
Waller and Theory teame dup to clothesline Oba Femi over the top rope and Waller tried to convince Theory to lay down for him, but Theory didn’t go for it.
Oba Femi set up a table on the outside, then Theory ended up holding him down on the table while Waller put the champion through it with an elbow drop off the middle rope. Theory tried to pin Femi which led to an argument between Waller and Theory.
Femi ended up putting Grayson Waller through the announce table then Theory took control of the match when he hit Oba Femi with A-Town Down in the middle of the ring. Theory looked like he had it won. However, Waller pulled the referee out of the ring to break up the pin.
Austin Theory argued with Grayson Waller, so Femi attacked Theory from behind while he was distracted. Waller got in the ring and tried to hit Femi with the Rolling Thunder Stunner, but he ended up hitting Theory with the move by accident instead. Oba Femi then powerbombed Theory and pinned him to retain the NXT Championship.
After the match the lights went out and the mysterious new stable made up of Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars and Osiris Griffin appeared and attacked Oba Femi.
