The NXT roster just got a little bit smaller as one of the wrestlers in WWE’s developmental brand has reportedly been released. Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Chris Atkins is no longer with the company.
Atkins was hired by WWE in 2015, but hasn’t been used much since he signed his contract. His last match was against Oney Lorcan at a NXT live event earlier this month and he also wrestled at WrestleMania Axxess.
At this point it’s not clear why he was released or what his plans are for the future.
Monday night on Raw, Kalisto faced off against Braun Strowman in a Dumpster Match, and although Kalisto was able to pull out a big win, Braun got the last laugh.
Strowman locked Kalisto in the dumpster and then pushed it up then ramp then eventually off the stage. After the segment was over Kalisto was seen on a stretcher as medics placed him into an ambulance.
WWE posted the following update regarding Kalisto’s condition after the match:
“Following Raw’s Dumpster Match, Kalisto was brutally injured by Braun Strowman and suffered hip and cervical trauma, Michael Cole reported during Raw. The luchador is currently undergoing further evaluation and observation at a local medical facility in Kansas City, Mo.”
