WWE Releases NXT Talent, 2017 Royal Rumble Location Officially Announced

WWE has released NXT talent Stuart Tomlinson, better known as Hugo Knox, according to PWInsider. The report notes that it was a “mutually agreed upon decision.”

Knox is a former soccer player from Great Britain and he signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2013. He made his in-ring debut for the NXT brand during a live event in November of 2014. Knox hasn’t worked a match for the NXT brand since August.

WWE has officially announced that the 2017 Royal Rumble pay-per-view will take place from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.

The event will be returning to the Alamodome for the first time since 1997. The 1997 Royal Rumble was attended by over 60,000 fans and the event featured Shawn Michaels defeating Sycho Sid for the WWE Championship, as well as Steve Austin’s first Royal Rumble win.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, October 14, at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT.
