Australian tag team TM-61 (formerly known as The Mighty Don’t Kneel) have experienced a major setback on their way up the tag team ranks in NXT. The young team has been recently feuding with The Revival and were having a match during the January 5th NXT taping at Full Sail when Shane Thorne went down with a knee injury.
The match is still planned to air on January 25th, and will most likely mark the end of the feud. The match ended quickly without a planned finish being carried out and many in attendance speculated that Thorne might have been injured.
There is no word on who The Revival will be paired against yet, but this is indeed devastating news to the Australian favorites.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Thorne is possibly scheduled to undergo knee surgery today. TM-61 found themselves on WWE’s radar in June 2015 when they participated in a tryout camp for the company and received contracts in February 2016. There is no word yet on how long Thorne is planned to be out of action or the extent of his injury. Plans are also unknown as to whether or not his partner Nick Miller is scheduled to make a go at it as a singles competitor. This is indeed awful timing because feuding with former NXT tag champs, The Revival, was seen as a sign that they were on their way up in the tag team picture in NXT.
