WWE is constantly signing new wrestlers, and many of those talents end up joining the NXT brand before they go to Raw or SmackDown, but unfortunately not everyone gets the push they want.
It as recently reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Io Shirai is “not necessarily happy” with how she’s being used in NXT.
It’s also being reported that the Japanese promotion Stardom wants to bring Io Shirai and Kairi Sane back, but that WWE might move Shirai to Raw or SmackDown in order to prevent that from happening.
2020 is expected to be a big year for Stardom, as the promotion was purchased by New Japan Pro Wrestling’s parent company, Bushiroad.
Stardom is looking to run bigger shows this year, which is why they want stars, and want to stop Shirai and Sane from signing new WWE contracts.
It was also noted that Io Shirai’s fiancé is back in Japan.
There’s no word yet on when Io Shirai or Kairi Sane’s contracts expire.
