NXT Star Pulled From Big Title Match Due To Injury

Wrestling fans are gearing up for another action packed weekend as the NXT Deadline premium live event is set to take place from the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT. Originally Wes Lee was supposed to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at the event, but that match won’t be happening.

During this week’s episode of NXT, Wes Lee made his way to the ring and he could be see using the assistance of a crutch to stand. Lee was in tears as he announced that he’s injured, so he won’t be challenging Dominik for the North American Championship at Deadline. Wes Lee told the fans that he will need to undergo surgery, so he doesn’t know when he’ll be back.

Wes Lee then went on to tell Dominik Mysterio that he will be defending the NXT North American Championship at Deadline, he’ll just be doing it against a different opponent. Lee then told Dom that he should hear the news from someone in his own family.

Rey Mysterio then appeared on the screen and announced that he will be at Deadline on Saturday because he wants to be on hand for Dominik’s match when he defends the North American Championship against Dragon Lee.

The commentary team later stated that Wes Lee will have to undergo back surgery that will likely keep him sidelined for 8 to 12 months. Stay tuned for updates.
