The week after WrestleMania is always exciting for wrestling fans, as they expect new names to be called up from NXT. This year was no exception, as Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger, The Revival and more made their way up to the main roster.
However, NXT call ups aren’t exclusive to WrestleMania week, as they can happen at just about anytime through the year.
PWInsider is reporting that one NXT star is set to be at WWE TV this week, and that star is none other than Aleister Black. It’s possible that Aleister Black will be at Raw tonight, as he recently worked some Raw live events overseas.
There’s no word on whether or not WWE officials have plans to call Aleister Black up anytime soon. It’s not uncommon for WWE to have NXT stars work dark matches at TV tapings, so it’s possible that he could be working a dark match tonight.
One thing’s for sure, NXT officials seem to be very high on Aleister Black as William Regal recently praised the up and coming star, and Triple H said that he thinks he’s going to be “a player” in NXT.
Speaking of NXT, the stars of WWE’s developmental brand are set to showcase their skills on Saturday night with NXT TakeOver: Chicago.
It was recently announced that Jim Ross and Nigel McGuinness will be calling the action for the upcoming WWE United Kingdom Championship Special that’s set to air on the WWE Network on Friday, and Ross also confirmed via Twitter that he’ll be calling the UK Title match at NXT TakeOver on Saturday.
