NXT Star Debuts And Helps Roman Reigns Retain The Undisputed Title At Clash At The Castle

Roman Reigns has been the man to beat in WWE for some time now as he recently celebrated two years as Universal Champion. The Tribal Chief also picked up a big victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 a few months ago and he became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in the process. Drew McIntyre has had his sights set on Roman Reigns for months and on Saturday they finally faced off at WWE Clash at the Castle.

Ahead of Clash at the Castle Drew McIntyre teased the return of his old “Broken Dreams” theme, and before he entered the arena the song played while a video aired showing various highlights from throughout his entire career. Drew’s current theme then hit and he made his way out into Principality Stadium.

When it came time for Roman Reigns to enter the stadium he came out alone without The Bloodline. Drew McIntyre stared him down the whole time and didn’t take his eyes off The Tribal Chief.

Drew McIntyre dominated early on in the match and as he was battling Roman on the outside he came face to face with Karrion Kross and Scarlett who were in the front row. Roman capitalized on the distraction and attacked McIntyre.

After Roman got the momentum back on his side and he beat Drew down he grabbed a microphone and demanded that Cardiff acknowledge him as the crowd booed. Drew then hit him with a Glasgow Kiss.

Later in the match Drew went for the Claymore, but Roman speared him. Drew kicked out and Roman confronted the referee and argued. Drew then hit Roman with a Claymore and knocked the referee down as well.

Theory then came down with Money in the Bank and got ready to cash in, but Tyson Fury appeared out of nowhere and hit Theory in the head from the other side of the barricade. Roman tried to hit Drew with a chair, but Drew hit the Claymore on The Tribal Chief, and Roman kicked out.

Drew hit Roman with a Claymore, then a spear and he went for the pin, but a mystery man in a hood pulled the ref out of the ring. The man pulled off his hood and revealed himself to be Solo Sikoa from NXT. Roman then hit the spear to get the win and retain the title. After the match the commentators confirmed that Solo is now a member of The Bloodline.

After the match Tyson Fury got in the ring and showed respect to Roman Reigns. After Roman left with Solo Sikoa, Tyson Fury helped Drew up and told him he should be proud of himself. Fury then started to sing “American Pie” as Drew and the whole crowd joined him.

Drew then said the match didn’t go the way he wanted to, but he encouraged the crowd to party as he led them in a sing a long to “Don’t Look Back In Anger” by Oasis. Drew told the fans he loved them all and hugged Tyson Fury to end the show.
