NXT’s mini-tour concluded Saturday night in Albany, New York and the crowd in attendance couldn’t wait for the future WWE main roster superstars to give them a show they’d never forget. Kassius Ohno kicked the night off in a big way when he defeated Patrick Clark to prove once more that it isn’t all about body fat, because ability has a hell of a lot to do with it as well.
Mandy Rose and Daria Berenato had the chance to perform in front of the packed crowd and turned a lot of heads in the process. Although they might be suffering from the stigma of being discovered by WWE via a reality television show, they are using their opportunities in the ring to change public perception of themselves in a real way.
Aleister Black and Andrade “Cien” Almas (both guys who had better names before WWE changed them) had a great match last night. Black ended up going over to remind fans that it won’t be long until his name is spoken in conversations about #1 contender’s for NXT’s top prize.
Asuka made her way down to the ring to defend her NXT Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Ember Moon and Nikki Cross.
These women tore the house down and even executed a “tower of doom” spot in the process. We love this move and also the fact that NXT is booking these women in matches like this that really highlight their ability.
The main event saw Shinsuke Nakamura team up with Team DIY to take on Bobby Roode and the Authors of Pain once again in a tag match. The match came to an end when Shinsuke Nakamura hit the Kinshasha to secure a victory for his team, and to borrow a phrase, “it was glorious.”
