No Way Jose On Representing Latinos And What It’s Like To Be In NXT

Few people can truly pull off a conga line and No Way Jose is one of those people. Jose recently spoke to ESPN where he discussed his family heritage and how proud he is to not only represent people from the Dominican Republic but Latinos in general.

“It’s cool to get into this from what I grew up watching, but now I’m representing a country. You have to go back and actually see everything that’s going on in there. It’s cool to see the support and the love I’m getting representing the Dominican Republic […] I’m out here trying to represent the Latinos as a whole, you know, and having fun doing it.”

NXT is a nurturing place for talent to thrive, learn their craft, and carve out their niche in professional wrestling. No Way Jose gave us a small picture of what NXT is like from the perspective of someone inside the cultivation factory for future WWE superstars.

“This is what NXT does, you go there and work every single day. It’s just like college. You have the professors, who are your coaches, the students, who are the recruits […] Everybody goes in there and works hard every single day. You work hard in the ring, work hard outside the ring, you work hard in the gym. You do things, paying your dues. You look yourself in the mirror every single day. You try to get better and better, and make it to a place where you can be this larger-than-life persona that everyone tries to get into.”

He went on to discuss how the Performance Center is a place full of a variety of talent from different backgrounds and they all influence each other to create the best product possible. Ultimately, Jose is having fun no matter how you stack it.

He can currently be seen as a rising star on the face side of the roster on NXT, but he certainly has his eyes set on higher plateaus.
