NJPW Star Calls Out CM Punk

It’s been years since fans have seen CM Punk wrestle a match inside a professional wrestling ring, but it sounds like he hasn’t totally shut the door on a potential return.

During a recent interview Punk was asked about a potential return to the ring, and he named Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Will Ospreay as opponents he’d like to face.

“Um, as far as people that I’ve worked with before, I think — you know, if there was like a clean slate, so to speak. And if the money was right, I think a guy like Daniel Bryan I would go, ‘I would listen to your idea.’ If you said John Cena, I’d probably listen to your idea. Rey Mysterio, I would listen to your idea. For people I haven’t ever wrestled before? I think Will Ospreay, I would listen to your idea.”

Ospreay responded to Punk’s comments by officially challenging him to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 15 next year when he posted the following:

“Just an idea & because we could all use something to focus on to get us through this hard time right now.

Save January 4th & get some reps in.

Help the business move forward instead of being a “spoke on the wheel”
