WrestleMania 41 has come and gone, but there’s no denying that the show featured some big title matches. This year Jade Cargill faced off against Naomi on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but it seems that WWE originally had different plans for Cargill at WrestleMania 41.

Jade Cargill is currently set to face Roxanne Perez in the Queen of the Ring semifinals on Raw this week, and Dave Meltzer speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Cargill could win the tournament to set up Jade vs. Tiffany Stratton at SummerSlam.

Meltzer also went on to say that Jade Cargill was originally supposed to walk into WrestleMania 41 as the WWE Women’s Champion, but WWE was forced to change plans.

“The perfect [situation] for Naomi to cash in [would be with] Jade as champion, as far as storylines go. So… and Jade was supposed to be WWE Women’s Champion, if she hadn’t gotten hurt. Jade was supposed to become champion by WrestleMania 41, and then defend at WrestleMania.”

It was also noted that WWE sees Jade Cargill as a big time superstar, so one way or another it looks like the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion could be set for a big moment at SummerSlam this year.

Stay tuned for updates.
