Chris Jericho has been one of the top stars in All Elite Wrestling since the very beginning and he formed The Inner Circle on the very first episode of Dynamite. The Inner Circle eventually fell apart after a long run and the former AEW World Champion is now the leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that Jericho confirmed during the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum that the original plan was for him to form a babyface tag team with Eddie Kingston after their feud.
However, Jericho saw 2.0 and decided to save Jake Hager who would have gotten lost in the shuffle, so he decided to change course and turn back to being a heel.
The Jericho Appreciation Society recently picked up a big win over Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson in an Anarchy in the Arena match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. It’s been confirmed that both teams will face off in a 5 on 5 Blood and Guts match on the June 29th episode of Dynamite.
