It’s been a while since fans have seen The Bella Twins as Nikki last wrestled when she faced Ronda Rousey at the Evolution pay-per-view back in October of 2018.
Neck surgery changed the course of Nikki’s career in a huge way, and she opened up about retirement during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
According to Nikki, she was hoping to return to fight for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, but she found out she has a herniated disc, an a cyst on her brain.
“For me, I really wanted to go back and fight for the tag titles. I’ve always had my neck issues, and after neck surgery it hasn’t been okay. I felt like I needed to get a checkup before we went back for the tag titles. It came back that I herniated the disc above where I had surgery, I had all this inflammation around the metal, and then I have a cyst on my brain. So, they were like, ‘You’re done. No more. You’re out.’ So, I didn’t get a choice.”
So, it seems that fans who were hoping to see Nikki Bella return to the ring at some point won’t be getting their wish.
