Nia Jax is a beast in the ring and she’s not like most girls. Because most girls can’t hold you over their head and slam you into the ground. When Nia faced off against Bayley on Raw things might have gone a little wrong.
There was a spot in the match where Nia tossed Bayley under the bottom rope but she landed wrong and got hung up a little. The Hugger landed hard on her shoulder and was out for a little bit. The referee ran over to check on Bayley it got a little awkward for a moment. Bayley did carry on but an audible might have been called to end the match with a count out win for Bayley rather than a pinfall.
Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live that as a former worker in the ring he’s separated his own shoulder and it looked like Bayley did the same on Raw. This is awful timing if it is true because she’s getting another shot to grab that brass ring in a match against Alexa Bliss. Little Miss Bliss humiliated Bayley and killed her believability as a top dog in the Raw Women’s Division. There’s little to no chance Bliss is willing to go easy on Bayley at SummerSlam if she’s able to make it there.
Bayley didn’t injure her shoulder in the typical way people usually hurt their shoulder in a match either. Alvarez pointed out the heel might work a body part but a shoulder spot is usually taking a shoulder to the post or missing a charge into the turnbuckle. But the way Bayley fell was scary and it was similar to how Enzo suffered a concussion in the past. Remember when people liked Enzo?
Alvarez said he knows the ref called to the back and Bayley said she could continue. But her shoulder was hurt they just don’t know to what extent yet. To make matters worse, Nia grabbed Bayley in a chicken wing move after that and held her up before slamming her to the mat on her shoulder. Yeah, she’s not like most girls.
Let’s hope Bayley is okay because she really deserves another chance to do her thing on the main roster. She had incredible momentum coming out of NXT and was once off handily called “The Female John Cena” at times. But now an injury from a messy spot might have gotten in the way. Then again, maybe we’re all just getting worked here.
