A few months ago Nia Jax injured Becky Lynch on the road to Survivor Series, and Becky had to be pulled from her match with Ronda Rousey.
Following the brawl on Raw where Nia hit Becky with a stiff shot, Jax had to deal with some serious backlash on social media.
Nia Jax spoke to Bleacher Report about the situation and revealed that she spoke to The Rock who encouraged her to make it work to her advantage. The former Raw Women’s Champion also said that Charlotte Flair helped her look at the bright side.
“At the moment, I know it sucks. But look what it’s done for Becky. Look what it’s done for me. Look what it’s done for you as a heel,” Flair said to Jax. “I didn’t really think of it that way when I was getting told to go die and never come out of my hole again. Some of the tweets really were going off the rails. But when she put it in that perspective, I started to think about it differently. Now, it’s something that people will remember forever. It was crazy, but it turned into something pretty cool.”
In the end it seems that everything worked out. Becky Lynch didn’t get to face Rousey at Survivor Series, but one Sunday night she won the Royal Rumble, and it’s been confirmed that she will be facing Ronda on the Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 35.
Nia Jax appears to be heading for the tag team division, as she and Tamina qualified for the Elimination Chamber match which will crown the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions next month.
