Nia Jax Responds To Claims That The Rock Told Her To Take A Leave Of Absence From WWE

Last fall Nia Jax took a leave of absence from WWE, and while she was away various rumors started to fly in regards to why she was taking time away from the company.

It was rumored that Jax was unhappy with her position in WWE, and it was also rumored that her cousin The Rock advised her to take a leave of absence. However, Nia Jax recently spoke to Pop Culture and shot the rumor down.

“That was the craziest thing I’ve ever heard!,” Jax laughed. “The fact that people would think that Dwayne would ever tell me to not do something for the WWE, a place that’s actually given him his start and the reason he is on top of the world, it’s completely false and hilarious.”

Jax also set the record straight in regards to why she took time off, and she explained that a bag actually fell on her head during a flight.

“It has nothing to do with that at all,” Jax said. “It wasn’t something that was that big of a deal. I had actually had an injury that happened to me personally on a flight—an overhead bag fell directly on top of my head while I was on a plane. I was out of it, I was completely out of it. I’m not kidding you.”

One way or another, Nia Jax is the current Raw Women’s Champion, so it’s safe to say that she’s probably happy with her position in WWE at the moment.
