Sunday night was a huge night for the stars of WWE, as the annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view aired live on the WWE Network.
R-Truth and Carmella earned the right to enter their respective Royal Rumble matches at number 30 when they won the Mixed Match Challenge, but unfortunately for Truth, he never made it into the men’s Royal Rumble match.
As Truth was trying to make his entrance, Nia Jax beat him down, stole his spot, and then entered the match.
It sounds like Jax may have hit R-Truth a little too hard, because WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler recently noted on his Dinner with The King podcast that Truth was heated backstage.
“Her first move, this got real heat, for real. She blasted poor R-Truth and knocked him face first into that wall. He was hot. For real hot. He was hot. They were having to hold him back, back there.”
Even though Sunday didn’t go as planned for R-Truth, he did manage to win the United States Championship on Tuesday night, so things could be worse.
Still, it’s probably safe to say that he’ll be looking over his shoulder next time he enters a Royal Rumble match.
