The WWE Hall Of Fame is a great night where the pro wrestling world looks to the past and recognizes those who have paved the way for the Superstars of today. This year’s WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony is going to be a packed one with Goldberg headlining and other names including the Dudley Boyz, Ivory, Jeff Jarrett and more to be added to the great night.
There are a couple more rumored names to be inducted this year including a reported spot for Kid Rock in the Celebrity Wing as well as Bam Bam Bigelow finally getting his rightful place in the WWE Hall Of Fame as well. But it looks like WWE threw a bit of a curve ball at us this week with the announcement via Bleacher Report that Hillbilly Jim will be joining the Class of 2018.
Some modern-day fans might only remember Hillbilly Jim from his stint on Legends House where he was on the top of his game and provided much needed comic relief and also played the role of wise veteran. But many other fans know Hillbilly Jim for his decades of time in the ring as he traveled the world leaving fans happy to see him and wishing they could get a bigger dose of his Southern Hospitality.
Although he never picked up a title in WWE, his bearhug was one of the greatest in the history of the sport as he used it for his finishing move to polish off several opponents during his career. As he managed The Godwins along with many more such as his Cousins Junior and Elmer as well as Uncle Elmer, this stereotypical character resonated with a huge portion of the fanbase as his ideology and integrity are still quite impressive to this day.
It is a good day for Hillbilly Jim and we would like to congratulate him as he finds himself in the middle of a great WWE Hall Of Fame class so far.
