In the end it came down to Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, and Bate was the one who put Dunne away to become the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion. Saturday night at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, Tyler Bate put his title on the line against Dunne, but Tyler didn’t walk out with the belt.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross called the action for the impressive United Kingdom Championship match, and it’s safe to say that the contest delivered.
Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne went above and beyond to entertain the fans, and Chicago let them know that they appreciated their efforts as the fans in attendance chanted “fight forever” a few times throughout the match.
The contest started off with a methodical pace, but when the action picked up, it picked up big time and there were quite a few near falls.
The end came when Tyler Bate did a dive to the outside but Dunne moved which caused Bate to land on his head. Dunne then rolled Bate back in the ring, then hit his finisher and pinned him to win the title.
