WWE has signed a number of notable talents over the last few years and now it appears that another former AEW star is WWE bound. It was recently reported that Powerhouse Hobbs has signed a WWE contract, but it looks like Hobbs will be getting a new name now that he has officially joined the company.
Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam is reporting that Powerhouse Hobbs will be using the name Royce Keys when he debuts on WWE programming. WWE filed to trademark Royce Keys on January 20th.
It’s not clear at this point in time when Powerhouse Hobbs will be making his first appearance on WWE television, but it was recently reported that he is expected to at Royal Rumble weekend.
Hobbs finished up with All Elite Wrestling earlier this month. It was reported that the company offered him a new deal, but obviously he decided to explore his options and go elsewhere. Originally Powerhouse Hobbs made his AEW debut in 2020 as Will Hobbs. He is a one time TNT Champion and a one time AEW World Trios Champion.
