Originally Roman Reigns was set to defend his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar in a triple threat match at Crown Jewel, but unfortunately Roman had to vacate the title so he could take time off to focus on his battle with leukemia.
After Roman vacated the title, WWE announced that Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar would face off in a singles match to crown a new champion.
Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin made his way down to the ring, and before the match started Corbin hit Strowman in the back of the head with the Universal Title, then the bell rang.
Brock Lesnar then hit Strowman with the F5, but he kicked out.
Lesnar went for a second F5 and Strowman kicked out again.
Lesnar hit a third F5 and Strowman once again kicked out.
Brock went for a fourth F5 and he threw Strowman over the ropes to the outside as the referee counted to 10, but Strowman got back in the ring.
Braun tried to fight back, and he managed to hit Brock with a big boot, but Lesnar countered with another F5 to win the title.
