Last night ROH held “Honor Rising – Night 1” at the historic Korakuen Hall in Japan and a new ROH Television Champion was crowned. Roderick Strong defended his title against NJPW star Tomohiro Ishii. In the end it was the “Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii who walked away with the gold.
Roderick Strong won the title in October and has been defending it ever since. Strong has held the title twice during his run with the company. When Ishii defeated him to win the belt, hebecame the 11th ROH Television Champion.
Strong was set to defend his championship against Bobby Fish at the ROH 14th Anniversary show on February 26. It was announced that ROH and NJPW officials will meet Sunday morning to discuss how the events of “Honor Rising” will impact the card for the 14th anniversary show.
