The odds are definitely stacked against Dean Ambrose on Sunday night as he walks into Extreme Rules knowing that if he is disqualified then he will lose his Intercontinental Championship to The Miz.
It seems likely that Maryse could be banned from ringside to make the match fair for Ambrose, but The Wrestling Observer is reporting that it is quite likely that Elias Samson could be set to interfere and attack The Miz in retaliation for the fact that Miz attacked him during his debut match on Raw two weeks ago.
Miz was making a point about how easily Ambrose could be disqualified, but he seems to have angered The Drifter who talked about “an eye for an eye” in his latest song this past week on Raw.
If The Drifter does cost Ambrose his Intercontinental Championship then it could mean that The Lunatic Fringe will finally be given a new feud heading into Great Balls Of Fire in July.
This would be a clever way for WWE to allow the title to change hands but not continue the rivalry between The Miz and Ambrose that has been going on now for most of this year. It will be interesting to see if Elias is the one who causes Ambrose to lose the title as the speculation continues ahead of what is set to be an incredible Extreme Rules event on Sunday night.
